About Tabloy
A small team building the database tool we always wanted.
Why we built this
We spent years switching between database tools — one for Postgres, another for MongoDB, yet another for Redis. Each with its own quirks, its own subscription, its own learning curve. We kept thinking: why can't one tool just handle all of this well?
So we built Tabloy. Not as a side project, but as the tool we want to use every day. We chose Rust because we care about performance and memory. We chose Tauri because Electron felt wasteful. We chose to keep everything local because your database credentials are not our business.
We're not a big company. We don't have a marketing team or venture funding. What we have is a deep respect for the people who trust us with their workflow — and a commitment to building software that earns that trust every day.
What we believe
Privacy is not a feature
Your credentials live in your OS keychain. Your queries stay on your machine. We don't collect telemetry, usage data, or analytics. This isn't a selling point — it's a baseline.
Performance matters
Tabloy is built with Rust and Tauri — not Electron. It starts fast, uses less memory, and stays responsive even with large result sets. Your tools shouldn't fight your hardware.
Free should mean free
Every feature is available from day one. No connection limits, no tab limits, no feature gates. A license is for commercial use — we'll never lock capabilities behind a paywall.
Ship what people need
We don't add features to check boxes. Every feature exists because a real developer told us they needed it. If something doesn't belong in the app, it doesn't belong in the app.
